When doctors diagnosed me with Stage IV Rhabdomyosarcoma, not many thought I would be alive almost 29 years later.
Anyone that suffers through a round of chemotherapy or dosses of radiation understands how it affects you. Poison is terrible to inject into your body.
The American Cancer Society has announced that children treated with chemotherapy are experiencing "late" effects, which resulted in complications.
Taking part in support groups on Facebook, I've read stories of countless others who experience the same thing. Anyone who underwent chemotherapy and survived is grateful for surviving. However, the effects that linger are another battle to fight from the scars we have.
October is breast cancer awareness month. During Game 5 of the World Series, some female fans gained recognition for flashing the pitcher from behind home plate.
The women, who work for an adult magazine, claimed they took such action to help women suffering from breast cancer who cannot afford to pay their bills. If they did so for a "stunt" (it was intended to get the attention it did), then God help them, cause that is disgusting.
If their reasons are pure, I hope they find women they can assist. Many others, including myself, find themselves in the same position. I encourage anyone who has the heart to help those suffering from side effects to get involved. We need your help.
On Tuesday night, I appeared on "Tippy Talk," a podcast on blog talk radio. This was one of the things I discussed.
